HN: What advice would you give someone looking for ways to motivate themselves to start or maintain a fitness program?
Steve McManaman: To remain focused, it is always hard at the start, but very soon you will start to see and more importantly, feel the benefits and that will motivate you to carry on.

HN: What helps you deal with stress?
Steve McManaman: I have always been a relaxed type of character, so I am quite lucky. If you feel stressed I think it is important to try and focus on other things and try to relax.

HN: What healthy eating habits do you have?
Steve McManaman: I try to eat the right amount of food; I also eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and drink a lot of water to keep myself hydrated.

HN: Do you feel it is important to get regular medical checkups?
Steve McManaman: I think, depending on your age, should determine when you see the doctor. If you are young and don’t seem to have any ailments you probably don’t need to bother the doctor. If you have had a history of problems or don’t feel yourself by all means try to see your doctor for your own piece of mind.
